Welcome to the home of Altrincham & District Referees
Altrincham & District Referees’ Society is the local branch of the Referees’ Association. Our members include referees serving all levels of the game, from junior grass roots matches through to FIFA international matches. This range of experience is of great benefit to all members of the society as we help each other to improve and develop.
We meet once per month, running an indoor session covering a variety of topics during the season. Before each session we have time for socialising, networking, and seeking support and advice from colleagues. Our programme includes training from Premier League and Football League officials, and is designed to be of benefit to referees from all levels.
We also work closely with the Altrincham & District FA, and many of our members give their time to observing, mentoring and tutoring referees to aid their development.

27 New Referees in Altrincham
We’re delighted that the Altrincham & District FA have 27 newly qualified football referees following completion of their latest course at Sale United FC, led by Stuart Kay. After attending a 3 day course in November and passing an exam on the Laws of the Game, the trainee referees have been refereeing in the Timperley & District Junior Football League under the watchful eye of mentors. Having successfully completed a number of matches, they have now been signed off as FA Qualified Referees.
We look forward to the new referees joining the society next season.
