Training and Development

Altrincham & District Referees’ Society provides training and development opportunities for all our registered Referees. We encourage those who are ambitious and aim to progress to the higher levels, but also care about supporting and developing the majority who provide their services on a weekly basis to the local leagues.

At our monthly meetings we commence with a Laws of the game / sharing match experiences session at 19:00. These sessions will be followed by an opportunity to network with mentors and other referees (and eat food!), and then an indoor Society development session and meeting.

Every registered referee will receive invites to attend sessions, with the Altrincham FA having an expectation that all referees will attend a minimum of two development sessions over the course of a season. It is also expected that all referees will show common courtesy and reply to each invite either confirming attendance or sending their apologies.

This structure allows us to assist our referees on a progression pathway to both the Cheshire FA Referee Academy and the FA’s Regional CORE (Centre of Refereeing Excellence) structure.
