The Committee

Steve Johnson

President

Steve was the stand out candidate for the role of president when Ken Leach decided to step down at the end of the 2010/11 season. Steve began his refereeing career almost by chance as, in his footballing days, the referee of a match involving Steve's team at the time didn't turn up so it was up to Steve to take charge and from there he never looked back. He passed the next referees' course and since then he has acheived a lot in his refereeing career, most notably he was given the accolade of referee of the year in the Wythenshawe Sunday League.

Anthony Taylor

Training & Development Officer

A member of the Society for more than 20 years, Anthony progressed through the local Altrincham leagues to become a Premier League and FIFA referee.  He uses that wealth of experience to drive the training and development of our members to help them achieve whatever objectives they set.

Charlotte Phillips

Media Officer & Youth Rep

Charlotte started refereeing in 2011 and is currently a Level 5 referee. She is constantly learning and looking to progress in her career as a referee. She believes a great way of doing this is attending the meetings, as they are informative as well as a great opportunity to meet like-minded individuals with similar passions.

Tom O’Brien

Fitness Coordinator

Tom’s excellent performances in Cheshire FA Academy fitness tests made him the clear choice to promote fitness improvements amongst our members.  Tom is a Level 5 referee, but enjoys refereeing U11 matches as there’s a chance he won’t be the smallest person on the field.
